Laser hair removal by Sciton and Palomar Vectus

Palomar Vectus™ Laser hair removal at Luxuria Medical Spa

There are many devices for clinical laser hair removal, but only one stands above the rest. Recently, Palomar introduced the Vectus™ laser for laser hair removal. Palomar Medical Inc., is the leading company in patent design for laser treatments in close collaboration with the Wellman Institute, located at the Massachusetts General Hospital, which is considered the leading Laser Research Centre Worldwide. Here at Luxuria Medical Spa of Egg Harbor Township, we have the Palomar Vectus™ Laser which is fastest and most efficient laser on the market. With its Diode laser technology, hair cells responsible for hair growth are targeted and destroyed without harming the surrounding skin. It’s a simple approach to permanent hair reduction that’s fast, easy, and FDA-cleared.

The Vectus™ represents several significant technological advances in the field of laser hair removal. The physical “spot size” or treatment area for the device is fairly large: just under 1” x 1 ½”. In contrast, many other hair removal lasers have spot sizes around 1/10 to ¾ inches in size. The larger size offered with the Vectus™ laser means that the larger areas such as the back, legs, or chest can be treated in much less time. Such efficient use of the laser results in less treatment session necessary to achieve the patient’s desired result. The Vectus™ also has the option to use a smaller spot size for touch ups or smaller physical areas (such as the upper lip). In addition to the increased size, the Vectus™ laser distributes the laser energy more evenly than other laser devices, providing less variation across the treated area.

In addition to being a very efficient machine, the Vectus™ is also the most safe, painless, and effective laser for hair removal on the market today. Your safety is our priority! Another advance is that Vectus™ laser treatments are performed in Egg Harbor Township by Dr. Igor Tsyganov in conjunction with the Skintel™ melanin reader, which helps to determine how much pigment (melanin) your skin contains. This measurement is helpful to determine the appropriate laser settings, because laser hair removal actually targets the melanin at the root of the hair. It is important to carefully assess skin pigment and hair pigment, and the Skintel™ device provides an immediate result that can be directly sent to the Vectus™ to help adjust and customize the laser hair removal treatment. Lastly, all of the procedures are performed by a physician, which ensures the ultimate quality of care and experience for our patients.

Forget the pain of laser hair removals of the past. Vectus™ laser hair removal in Egg Harbor Township, NJ is virtually painless. Advances in the technology of Vectus™ allow for better cooling capacity throughout the procedure, which in turn eliminates the “hot spots” experienced by many laser hair removal patients. Vectus™ can be used on all skin types. By partnering with the Vectus™ team, Dr. Tsyganov has eliminated the discomfort from laser hair removal.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to how effective and financially affordable are the Vectus™ laser hair removal treatments? Due to the technological improvements in specifically targeting only the hair cells responsible for hair growth, and efficiently utilizing the larger spot size: The Vectus™ reduces the number of treatments needed almost in half for most patients.

At the Luxuria Medical Spa, we are committed to providing our patients with the best and safest in laser technology. Our dedicated physicians are experienced and caring. Contact us today for your Free Initial Consultation

Laser Hair Removal – ClearScan™

What is ClearScan?

ClearScan employs laser energy that can selectively target microstructures, such as hair follicles. With its targeted absorption by melanin, it gives the optimal balance between safely treating all skin types (from light to dark) and effectively removing unwanted hair. Tanned skin can be treated safely. However, inform the physician if you have been tanning, using tanning products, or have experienced prolonged exposure to the sun within the last three weeks. The physician will then adjust your treatment regimen accordingly to give you the safest and most effective experience.

How it works

The ClearScan laser selectively targets your hair follicles and heats them with laser energy. Unlike other treatments, the laser beam treats many hairs at once, making treatment of large areas practical. The ClearScan utilizes a unique computer-guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin to experience a safe, effective and gentle treatment.

Laser energy delivered by ClearScan can be used to remove all types of hair. When “shaving bumps” cover follicles, the laser energy can still penetrate to the hair follicle for a safe and effective treatment.

During treatment

The physician will discuss the treatment with you and decide if you need a topical anesthetic cream. The area of Vectis Laser Hair Removalyour skin that is to be treated will be scanned with laser light. Treatment time will depend on the size of the area to be treated. The continuous cooling feature will ensure your comfort and safety during treatment. Since the sensation varies from individual to individual, a topical anesthetic can be provided. Let the physician know if you are very sensitive.

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and the physician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. The physician may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

After treatment

Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated. However, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs, please consult the physician immediately. Keep the treated area clean, use at least SPF 15 sunscreen when going outdoors, and follow the physician’s post-treatment instructions carefully.
