What is SkinTyte?

The SkinTyte treatment is based on the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. How it works

The SkinTyte procedure utilizes infrared energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. During treatment

The SkinTyte light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anesthetic, however, the physician may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, the actual time will depend on the area treated.

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and the physician can personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. The physician may also combine SkinTyte with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

After treatment

You may experience some mild redness in the treated area immediately after treatment and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.

No special skin care regimen is required following treatment. However, you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a good sunscreen. The physician can also recommend an at home skin care regimen if desired.

What is ClearScan YAG?

ClearScan YAG allows the physician to precisely treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions and discoloration of your skin by using laser energy. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin condition and desired result. All skin areas can be treated with ClearScan YAG. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and legs. How it works

Broken capillaries and other visible vascular structures will be gently eliminated from the upper layers of your skin surface. Unwanted vessels will be preferentially heated by the laser energy and become less noticeable. ClearScan YAG will also restore your skin tone and color.

During treatment

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Laser energy will be delivered precisely to the area of your skin being treated. You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are absorbed by the unwanted vessels. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.

There should be little to no discomfort, however it varies from patient to patient and depends on the treatment. There is no need for anesthesia and the physician will discuss your options to properly manage any discomfort from the treatment. There should be no prolonged post-treatment discomfort.

After treatment

Your skin will be pink temporarily but it will resolve over time. Any vessels denatured by the laser will be reabsorbed by your body over a period of time in a natural cleansing process. Most small capillaries will become invisible almost immediately, since they will no longer contain blood.

It is important to follow the physician’s post-treatment instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and you must avoid direct sun exposure. You need to fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.

Your healing time will depend upon your actual treatment. In most cases, there is virtually no downtime and you may resume daily activity immediately. Acne vulgaris

Acne is NOT caused by bad diet or greasy foods. In fact, acne develops when the sebaceous glands in a person’s skin produces excess oil? (sebum). This oil combines with cells that line the gland walls and clogs the skin’s pores. Normal skin bacteria colonize these pores and the body’s response causes the inflammation or reddening of the skin that we associate with acne.

How does Omnilux™ light therapy work?

One of the key bacteria responsible for the inflammation isPropionibacterium acnes or P.acnes. These bacteria produce natural chemicals called poryphyrins, which are sensitive to light at different wavelengths. If stimulated, these chemicals will neutralise the bacteria and with no bacteria present inflammation will subside.

Clinical Efficacy

Omnilux blue™ for acne

In a recent study of 30 subjects, (skin types I-IV, all with mild to moderate acne vulgaris) every subject had a significantly successful treatment response. There was an optimum reduction in inflammatory lesions of 73% 4 to 8 weeks post treatment.

In a recent study 16 subjects (skin types I-IV, all with mild to moderate acne vulgaris or moderately severe cystic acne) were treated with alternate Omnilux blue™ and Omnilux revive™ light therapy.

Treatment Protocol

What is ProFractional Therapy?

ProFractional Therapy is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with little downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin. The procedure can be customized to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome. Most areas of the body can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face and neck, though many people also treat the chest and hands.

How it works

ProFractional Therapy is “fractionated” laser resurfacing, meaning that only a portion of the skin is treated in a session. The treatment uses a laser beam that ablates thousands of pinpoint channels in your skin. Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. The skin’s wound healing response creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.

During treatment

Before the treatment, your skin will be cleaned and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. A laser hand piece will be positioned gently on the skin. When the energy laser is applied, you will hear a rapid succession of snapping sounds. The hand piece will be moved around to adjacent locations until the entire treatment area has been covered. The procedure normally takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

ProFractional Therapy is widely regarded as a comfortable treatment, usually tolerated with the use of a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic, depending on the depth of the treatment.

Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments needed may vary from patient to patient. After treatment

Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness and a sensation resembling a sunburn. Your after-treatment care may include analgesics and application of an ointment to keep the skin moist. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the treatment, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of solar protection to avoid sun damage.

Complete healing typically occurs within a few days and most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to work and apply makeup a day or two after treatment. There will be some swelling that will subside within several days following the treatment.

As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of ProFractional Therapy is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 4 to 6 months following your treatment.
